Nilagang Baka Recipe



INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1 kg beef sirloin, cubed
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 4 ripe plantains (saging na saba), halved
  • 1 bunch pechay (bok choy), halved
  • 1 small cabbage, quartered
  • 2 medium potatoes, quartered
  • salt, pepper and msg to taste
  • 2 beef cubes, dissolved in 5 cups of water
  • 5 cups water

PROCEDURE:

1. In a large casserole, put the water, dissolved beef cubes, beef, and a dash of salt. Cover and bring to a boil until meat is tender. Add water if necessary.
2. Add the onions, potatoes. Cover and simmer for 3 minutes.
3. Add the plantains, salt, pepper, and msg. Cover and simmer for 4 minutes.
4. Add the cabbage and pechay. Simmer for 2 minutes. Adjust the taste.
5. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl.
6. Serve hot with rice.
7. Share and enjoy!
