Cheese & Pineapple Chiffon Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup refined sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla flavor
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup crushed pineapple
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese

MERINGUE:

8 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup refined sugar


PROCEDURE:

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and  prepare ungreased tube pan.
2. Sift dry ingredients together.
3. Make a well at the center. Add oil, egg yolks, and pineapple juice.
4. Beat with a wooden ladle until smooth.
5. In a large mixing bowl, beat egg whites and put the cream of tartar until fluffy.
6. Add sugar, continue beating gradually until sugar is dissolved.
7. Pour into the batter mixture. Cut and fold.
8. Pour into prepared ungreased pan.
9. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until done.
10. Invert pan immediately. Let it cool completely.
11. Remove the cake from the pan by running a long knife inside and the center of the tube pan.
12. Transfer to a serving plate.
13. Serve, share and enjoy.
